Amanda doesn't know what to believe. But as nice as Charles is, she starts to have suspicions about Charles' "hotel" that he claims to have in California. And just who is the sick, wild eyed young woman in the back of his wagon?

This was another really good book by Barbara Goss. It was a different take on a Western romance and I liked that. I also liked that while it had some sad parts, it was realistic. (Don't worry, it has a happy ending). I've read three of her books so far and none have disappointed. I would definitely recommend this one too!

Captured Heart; Barbara Goss I liked this story of Amanda and her struggle to recover from deaths and to find love?
Luke and Amanda just stole my heart. I loved reading about their journey towards true love and happy ever after. They had their trials and hardships, but above all they had their faith in God. Thank you for the sweet romantic Western..
Captured Heart was a great read with interesting characters, a plot that was complicated enough to keep the story interesting without being confusing and the setting was historical. I would recommend this story to anyone who would like to enjoy the magic of a book taking you into another world while comfortably snuggled on your own couch.
Admittedly it took a little bit to get Amanda to grow on me, but she finally did. She was attracted to Charles, but Luke was attracted to her. I was glad when she finally started seeing Charles' true colors, but was surprised with the kidnapping.
Amanda struggles through losing her family to finding a new family.
I loved this book and couldn't put it down. I read a review giving story 2 stars because of the glaring grammacial errors. Did we read the same book? I sure didn't find glaring grammatical error. I love Barbara's books and I haven't read a bad one yet! I hope you will give this book a try. You won't be sorry. I hope you will enjoy reading this book as much as I did.
I just finished this book, my third of this author. I really enjoyed the story and especially enjoyed the Christian theme and refreshing characters. The plot has many unexpected events and twists and turns as Amanda tries to make her way to San Francisco after her family dies and she is left alone in her wagon among the others on a wagon train. Amanda is a brave girl and not afraid of hard work. She's level headed, which is always a plus for me. She doesn't make stupid choices. My only wish is that we could have gotten to know Luke a little better. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
